Andre Leon Talley Left 'Vogue' for 'Numero Russia?

So true! Well according to the article in the New York Post page six "After nearly 30 years at the right hand of Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour, Andre Leon Talley, the fashion bible's inimitable Editor-at-Large-slash-Contributing-Editor, is rumored to be leaving the publication." We'll the rumors are indeed true.

"My strategy is to bring my training," he told WWD about his plans for Numero. "I feel that I have definite skills to bring to Numero Russia, something exciting for the Russian market and the Russian fashion reader that creates a human side to the fashion theme, a human narrative." Excited about his contribution to the magazine and also landing Naomi Campbell on his first Numero cover.

"I chose her because she lives in Russia now," Talley said. "She has a Russian life with her boyfriend Vladimir [Doronin]. They have an extraordinary new house by Zaha Hadid, and I was privileged enough to see it before it was completed. It's extraordinarily modern to be in Russia."

Seems like Russia is the place to be now. Awe Vogue will miss you Andre and I must say your truly an inspiration to a stylish black young adult like myself that I too can be the Editor-in-chief of a major fashion magazine, are something close to it. I thank you for your guidance and contribution to the fashion industry as a whole and excited about this new tv series surrounding your life and everything fashionable about it. Oh also, can I have your furs?

Carlyne Cerf De Dudzeele... Enough said!

Carlyne Cerf De Dudzeele is the force behind the over-the-top ads and extremely overly accessorized editorials for magazines and look books, but mostly for her talent with Vogue Magazine. If I were to express my creative thought it'll be a mx between Grace Coddington and Carlyne. Two of my huge influences with style, because they're that it stylist/editors icons that paved the way for many today. Excited for her cameo in the HBO's documentary airing December 6 called In Vogue: The Editor’s Eye. I'm hugely excited, anything dealing with lifestyle and fashion, I love it! Oh and if your wondering who is responsible for the iconic first issue under Anna Wintour with the bedazzled sweater and jeans, well thank the stylist of that iconic issue, Carlyne Cerf De Dudzeele.

Rihanna is dull in Valentino

Rihanna was just the new cover girl of Vogue Nov. stunning yes, but it just lacks drama. Her candid shots from the paparazzi are more appealing than this. I don't know, love the Valentino number but this pose and that facial expression is not working for me. I love the caption under her name on the cover, "I love to have fun". Well from the looks of this cover it doesn't seem that way. What do you think?

Bravo for Andre Leon Talley!

{photos via HERE}

Andre Leon Talley is jumping for joy with his new show coming to the Bravo network fall lineup. Well I know I am, seeing that I want his job at Vogue, but other than that I just love him! According to nymag.com
His role on the forthcoming Fashion Stories will be as a mentor of sorts, to "four up-and-coming fashion design teams as they produce the defining collection of their careers ... The mission to 'create, show and sell' is clear for emerging designers striving to build a business in New York City which remains the heart of the fashion industry." Conceptually, this sounds like a mishmash of many previous fashion-themed reality shows, but as long as there's an opportunity for ALT to label things dreckitude, we'll be watching. Will you?
I sure will be watching and I hope you do too!

Tory Burch’s Southampton Home

In an impressively short time, Tory Burch has created a multimillion-dollar lifestyle brand based on . . . herself. Raised in an historic Georgian house on rolling acres in Pennsylvania, she was a tomboyish kid more likely to be found up a tree than in a dress. Still, she soaked up plenty of style from her parents, who were among the Main Line gentry: Her father, heir to a paper-cup fortune, designed his own clothes and lined his suit jackets with Hermès scarves; her mother favored the easy patrician chic of Jacqueline Onassis. Burch credits her family as a primary influence on her taste, along with the decorator David Hicks, whose color-charged graphics from the sixties and seventies still look “very fresh” to her today. - Via VOGUE FOR MORE OF TORY'S LIFE STORY

The Single Life: Taylor Swift for Vogue

So the February issue of Vogue is here and who graces the cover? country musician Taylor Swift. So far Vogue has been doing good with the articles and also the editorials. I'm starting to fall back in love with Vogue...do I see a near subscribing to the mag again? Maybe. But in the meantime the editorial is amazing. I love the color tone and the styling is an A for AWESOME! The bohemian styling of fashion editor Tonne Goodman showcase Taylor in a new light for me.

Blacks on Vogue covers?

Even though I hardly read Vogue anymore... okay, I didn't inform everybody that my lack of interest for Vogue was starting to take over, but I just feel its been in the same old direction. I love the editorials, but the reading material is not for me. I connect more with ELLE, and Instyle, and my favorite V Magazine. But for Vogue its either Beyonce or Lady Gaga has to be the main cover story, if not, I'm not really interested. In lighter news, Thandie Newton, a very talented black actress stated in an interview with Pride magazine, that the fashion magazine Vogue features less black celebrities and models on the cover. Actually Newton stated:

Nicki Minaj does VOGUE?

Its Fashion Week, and that means the best of the best are out on the town attending social events and runway shows but lately Nicki Minaj has been on her fashion hustle. But its strange to see her at 2 events sitting next to the Queen herself, Anna Wintour. Does this mean a future collaboration for a Vogue spread if possible a cover story? Interesting...the day Vogue grace Nicki on the cover, I know anything is possible and I might just subscribe back to the magazine.

Here is Nicki sitting next to Anna Wintour at Carolina Herrera Fashion Show 2011.
